Understanding Internet Business Competition
In the internet business world competition has been growing steadily in all niches. What you must understand before you begin any new web presence is you must be completely dedicated before you can even begin seeing any success. Understand that without work you will not begin seeing traffic whether through social website or search engines. One of the best ways to find great marketing platforms is by looking at where your competition is building links. You can do this by simply going to Yahoo and typing in site:competitiorsurl which will bring up all the links which Yahoo has found pointing towards your competitors website. If you notice that your competition is using a certain article directory then make sure to add this directory to your list. You will also find all the websites which your competition has exchanged links with. In most cases the websites which are linking to your competition will be willing to work something out with you as well.
Checking to see who is linking to your competition is not the only checks you can do when trying to find out why they are doing so well within the SERPs. Something I have found extremely helpful is actually going to your competitors website and looking at what they are up to. Some of the things to look for is if they are running a dynamic website such as a blog or are they running a static website. If they are running a blog this may mean their success has been completely dependent on the marketing which they do for the website. On the other hand if they are running a dynamic website or user generated website check and see how often the website is updated with new content and what topics the discussions are heading in. Notice which conversations your competitors have started and if you find one that has plenty of user interaction then it would be good to attempt and bring some of that conversation to your own website.
Something that I have not mentioned is always and I means always try to turn competition into partnerships. When you see a rising start within your niche and they are running a website with great content contact them and see if they will allow you to post content on their web presence. Make sure to offer them truly unique related content and never ask for more than one link. You can also always invite your competition to come write for you. They will get a free backlink some traffic and you will get free content on your niche. If you are always looking for new partners to work with then you will be much less upset when one of your partners pass you in the SERPs (search engine ranking pages). You will also notice that your websites will gain links from these partners on a regular basis. Try to find new partners on all the social networking website such as twitter and facebook. Making friends in the online business world is always better than making enemies.
